PUTTING IT ON THE STREET
Ponent al Carrer is a street arts festival that brings performing arts to the Torreforta neighborhood and turns public space into a meeting point between culture, community and territory.
The project combines a program of professional shows with a process of community training and creation. For a week, residents of the neighborhood participate in street art workshops, exploring creative tools and new ways of inhabiting and transforming public space. The process culminates with an exhibition of the work done during the week, sharing the stage with invited companies.
In its first edition, the festival featured Fadunito, Eléctrico 28 and Street Fools, with the shows Petit Circ, Full House and Banaba Flup, in addition to the community show starring the Torreforta neighborhood.
A proposal that brings street arts closer to neighborhoods, gives prominence to the neighborhood and generates new forms of relationship with public space through culture.
