RESEARCH AND INVESTIGATION

At SPASA we understand research as an artistic practice in itself: a space to generate knowledge from experience, experimentation and dialogue between artists, professionals and contexts.
Our line of research focuses on street arts and the methodologies that arise from artistic practice. The aim is to identify challenges, open questions and generate tools that contribute to the evolution of the sector, fostering spaces for shared thinking and knowledge exchange.
This process is developed through professional meetings, laboratories, collaborative processes and documentation, where artists and researchers work together to analyze the street arts ecosystem, detect its needs and imagine new forms of creation, transmission and impact.
Thinking about the street is also occupying it
SPASA RESEARCH 2025
The first edition took place in 2025 and was formed by the team of researchers and artists Diana Delgado UreƱo, Prisca-Villa, Marta Puig and Ferran Orobitg. The result describes the professional meeting that diagnoses the situation of research in street arts in Catalonia and proposes a first methodological tool to promote it from artistic practice. It defines what research from practices consists of, analyzes the ecosystem of street arts to detect its weaknesses and begin to design spaces of professional agitation. From here, several lines are identified that multiply the places from where it is possible to disseminate research from the practice of street arts, and a first proposal for a research tool will be developed.
